Different Groups for Focused Discipleship

At Church at the Gates we have three different types of small group gatherings you can join. Each group offers a different type of community and discipleship focus. We hope everyone who calls Church at the Gates their church home will take a next step in one of these groups. To view our group offerings scroll down see what might fit for you.

MISSIONAL COMMUNITIES

Missional Communities are co-ed groups of about 15 people. These groups are open all semester, and focus on sermon studies of our current series. They often fellowship over food, and spend time investing in relationships. This is a perfect place to get to know more people in the church and get a better understanding of the Sunday topics!

Unfortunately all of our Missional Community groups are currently full. If you, or someone you know might be interested in leading or hosting an MC group please email our Pastor of Discipleship Mark Resch at m.resch@churchatthegates.org.

DISCIPLESHIP GROUPS

Discipleship groups are smaller groups of 4-8 people. There are groups for either men or women. These groups meet regularly and are about being known deeply by others. These groups are built on the idea that change happens when we are known, loved, given grace, and pointed towards Jesus. While these groups may study a book of the bible or another resource their aim is not merely topical but relational. If you are looking for encouragement, accountability, grace, and discipleship, then D-Groups are for you.

EQUIPPING CLASSES

Equipping classes are groups that focus on teaching specific topics and dive in deep. Whether it’s how to study the Bible, or biblical sexuality, or financial peace, these groups are about building our theology and love for God based on his Word. These classes have a start and end date, some are offered online while others are in person. These are a great place to grow in your knowledge of God’s Word.
