Nothing Is Wasted – A Collaborative Art Show

This Christmas season we want to capture the beauty of the Gospel in a new way! Join us for a collaborative art show featuring artists from Church at the Gates, Anchor Church, and Missoula Alliance Church, to display the goodness of God through their chosen medium. Painting, sculpture, photography, tapestry, and other alternative processes are all accepted!

If you or someone you know is artistically inclined, and would like to participate, please read through the prompt below, and submit your proposal before October 23rd, 2022 (review and acceptance feedback given within 2 weeks of your submission date). A new piece is not required – if you already have a piece that fits this prompt, we would love for you to submit it! Physical artworks must be provided, ready for display, by November 20th,2022. We will be hosting an Artist’s Night on Friday, December 2nd, to share finished pieces. We will be both celebrating your work as well as inviting a Professor of Art from the University of Montana to join us in hosting an art discussion. There will be a Gallery night, open to the public, on December 3rd, with the show remaining up for display throughout December.

Please prayerfully consider participating in this project, and who you can invite to join you. You don’t need to be a “professional” – God has given you amazing gifts and talents to be used for His glory and our joy, in whatever capacity you have.

Prompt: Nothing is Wasted – Redemption through Christ.

Salvation is messy. The lineage of Jesus is gritty and filled with brokenness. Our lives stand as a testament to the saving power of Christ that has united us all and freed us from death. For the child of God, every dark thing is used as a part of a larger story, and every bit of pain is used to refine us. God heals, He answers, and He redeems. Nothing is wasted.

This could include, but is not limited to artistic expressions of:

-A personal testimony (i.e. the story of how Christ saved and redeemed you or someone you know)

-A Biblical narrative/character (i.e. a character from the lineage of Jesus)

-A character trait of God (i.e. omnipresent, gentle and lowly, sovereign, holy, etc.)

-A Biblical concept (i.e. sanctification, substitutionary atonement, resurrection)

Church at the Gates reserves the right to reject submissions at any time, without stating reason, based on:

-Display space and availability

-Visionary differences

-Infringement of Biblical truths

-Content (Nudity, violence, etc.)
